ABE Turkiye Successfully Completed Teacher Training on PCR Applications!

ABE Turkiye team came together with their experienced teachers on Sunday, November 13, and shared their knowledge and experience about the working principle and laboratory applications of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).

A total of 12 teachers participated in the training held at the Department of Biological Sciences of METU. The training program, which started with news from the project team and information about the teacher working groups, continued with the PCR activity.

Ancient DNA: Was Agriculture Practiced in Our Country 8000 Years Ago?

Within the scope of the PCR event, a newspaper article titled, “Ancient DNA: Was Agriculture Practiced in Our Country 8000 Years Ago?” was shared with teachers. They were asked to define the problem situation in the news and to work as a group to solve the problem. The content, which started with conceptual discussions on PCR applications, continued with laboratory applications where we experienced, discovered and enjoyed PCR laboratory techniques with teachers.

Teacher Training on Bioethics Coming Soon!

The training on the bioethics, which had been planned to be held on November 13, will be held online at a later date due to the intensity of the program. The training schedule will be clarified after the planning with the teachers.
