ABE LA Newsletter Interview/Article

Welcome to our ABE Teacher of the Month Spotlight, where we recognize outstanding educators from across the greater Los Angeles area who demonstrate a strong and consistent commitment to STEM education.

Today we’re honored to highlight an inspiring teacher whose dedication has reached thousands of students in the fields of marine biology and biotechnology. She has worn many hats as a science department chair, instructional leader, mentor, science fair coordinator, science bowl coach, and of course a teacher.

Her influence extends far beyond the classroom, shaping both students and fellow educators throughout the Los Angeles community. Her passion for inquiry based education is showcased in her published work with the California Association of Science Educators, where she developed engaging lessons on climate change and coral reef conservation. As an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow at the US Department of Energy, she contributed to workforce development initiatives and helped shape educational resources for K-12 teachers across the country.

I can go on and on, so please let us welcome our teacher of the month!
