To be eligible to obtain the lab equipment, reagents and supplies needed to implement the ABE lab curriculum in the classroom, teachers are required to attend one of our teacher training workshops. Our training workshops are free of charge. Upcoming workshops and events are posted below. Join us on Saturday at either Fullerton or Pierce College. We'll reconnect, share program updates and resources for the new year, and enjoy a light breakfast.

Abridged Genetic Engineering Sequence PDI

Date: October 3, 2026 | Location: Santa Paula High School | Room: 514

This Professional Development Institute is designed for teachers new to the ABE program as well as veteran ABE teachers. It will cover the Abridged Genetic Engineering Sequence (Labs 1, 2A, 4A, and 5A/B). This workshop is free of charge to all participants. Participants are required to attend two short virtual sessions in addition to October 3rd in-person. Once trained, ABE teachers can borrow a complete suite of equipment and all reagents and supplies needed to implement the ABE lab curriculum in their classrooms. Teachers completing the full PDI will receive a $50 gift card.
