ABE-LA BOLT! Student Fellowship 


Biotechnology Opportunities for Leadership and Talent (BOLT!) is a student fellowship program that plays a key role in supporting the behind-the-scenes operations of the Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE). ABE-LA is proud to serve its educators in the greater Los Angeles area, and we are equally excited to extend our reach to students through this fellowship.

The BOLT fellowship offers students up to 100 hours of comprehensive exposure to biotechnology. This program includes, but not limited to: Career development, Hands-on lab work, Exposed to various fields within biotechnology, STEM, and beyond!

ABE-LA General Volunteers

We are currently seeking volunteers and need your help!

Volunteering can take many forms. At this time ABE-LA is seeking regular volunteers to help with our education programs, curriculum development, and outreach events. 

Volunteer Opportunity Descriptions:

  • Education Programs: Guest speaker spot for biotechnology based training workshops, lab technician assistance, lecturing opportunities. 
  • Curriculum Development: Work on standards based extension labs to compliment the current ABE curriculum or outreach program offerings. 
  • Outreach Events: Work with educators, students, and community members at STEAM based community outreach events, may require background check and TB test.

We also accept volunteers that can help with various graphic design, marketing, and social media projects.
