LAPF Survey Guidelines and FAQ

1. How does LA Promise Fund (LAPF) protect student data and privacy? LAPF
provides services to the partnering schools and are required to maintain FERPA
compliance under the FTC's School Officials Exemption. Furthermore, all third party
partners with LAPF agree to adhere to FERPA requirements in the terms of our
partnership.

2. How will LA Promise Fund use the student data? We are working with third party
partners such as National Student Clearinghouse to track student progress and to
improve our programming to better serve our students and their families.

3. Are parents aware of how LA Promise Fund plans on using the data? Yes, the
Intake Form, outlines that we will be using the data in collaboration with third parties,
funders, and LA Promise Fund staff to improve our programming and services.

4. Do school administrators know how LA Promise Fund is using the data? Yes, we
have a Data Use Agreement with the Los Angeles Unified School District to access data
for our partner schools which states we will share data with third party stakeholders.
5. What happens if I cannot get all students to complete the survey? We will work with
the survey responses you are able to collect. We understand that enrolled students in
classrooms, clubs, and programs change as the year progresses.

6. Will I have access to the survey results? We will release aggregate data based on the
surveys received so you will be able to see the summary data of how LAPF Programs
have impacted students in SLATE-Z schools and beyond.

7. Will parents have access to the survey results? We release an annual impact report
that is public to all students, parents, and the community. With this new survey, we hope
to provide a more robust/holistic overview of the impact LA Promise Fund programs and
services have for students.
